Darien Gaston, aka Fable Angelo, was born on April 5, 1986, in Blue Island, IL. Right after he was born, his family relocated to the Roseland community (better known as the wild hunneds). This was, and still is, considered to be one of the most dangerous areas in the southside of Chicago, IL, well known for its high gang and drug activity. Understanding that they didn't want to continue raising children in this type of environment, his parents, Barbara & Larnell, chose to move the family to a south suburb of Chicago called Country Club Hills. These two unique experiences would later impact Fable’s art and writing style, giving him a plethora of stories and subjects to touch on in his music.
Throughout the early years, his house was always full of relatives, from grandmas & older cousins to nieces and nephews. This gave Fable a strong sense of family in which he still carries with him to this day. His mother and grandmother were devout Christian woman so, like clockwork, the family attended church at least twice a week. This is where Fable’s love for music began. He sang in the children’s choir at the same time his mom made sure he took lessons for the drums and piano.
Outside of church, Fable remembers the car rides he would take with his older brother Larnell and his cousin, Tarita listening to the loud music thumping through the speakers. This is where he fell in love with hip hop. Every Saturday he would eat candy, jump on the couch in the living room and watch music videos while trying to recite the lyrics. Some of his earliest musical influences included all types of artists from Stevie Wonder, Fred Hammond, Kirk Franklin, and Tye Tribett, all the way to The Lox, Eminem, Crucial Conflict, DMX, Busta Rhymes, Nas, Jay-Z, etc. This list could go on for days...
It wasn’t until his freshman year in high school that Fable’s destiny would be discovered. While on spring break, he went to visit his cousin Martel in Ohio. Martel taught Fable how to make beats on his computer. Then he took Fable to his first recording studio where he laid his first verse ever. Fable instantly fell in love with making music. Martel also helped broaden his artistry by introducing him to more underground artist such as Royce da 5'9, J Dilla, Talib Kweli, Little Brother, Apathy, Ras Kass, Canibus, etc. This gave Fable a deeper sense of what it meant to be a true lyricist. Some of these artists would also later become his favorites.
Throughout the years Fable has dibbled and dabbled with different projects in the past, including his mixtape "Refresher Course" which he recorded in the back of a semi truck. He also shot his first video (I Beg To Differ) years ago, thanks to one of his good friends "D Steele". However it wasn't until his latest project "The Trail" where he met his manager, Rio, A.K.A. Mr.Red, who convinced him that he should take his talent a little more seriously. "The Trail" has been circulating amongst his family and friends, yet Fable and Rio are planning to push this project to the world !!!

“I’m Good” is a song based upon self-reflection. In the first verse Fable wakes up in the morning, looks in the mirror, and describes to the audience what he sees within himself from a personal perspective. It’s a playfully similar to the story of snow white, when the wicked witch spoke to her magical mirror on the wall. In the second verse, he goes a little deeper and describes what he envisions culturally from a world-wide perspective. Check it out !
